Bulldog Foundation begins fund-raising to create place of pride in main entryway of new school - Rossford Record
A showcase of Bulldog pride is being planned for the new Rossford High School facility.
Doug Miller, president of the Bulldog Foundation board, said the organization would like to create a special space in the main entry hallway of the new high school. “This hallway is where everyone must enter the school, the gymnasiums or the theater,” he explained. “The interactive space will have areas devoted to each of veterans, distinguished alumni, and sports hall of fame inductees.”
A series of preliminary renderings were created by the Collaborative/TMP architect as a donation to the project.
“We are extremely excited about this project,” he said. “This space is intended to be very impressive and a source of pride for the community.”
Foundation members recently visited the Crisler Center basketball arena at the University of Michigan, which was the inspiration for the project. “The architect who is working on the school recently did a similar space there–it was quite impressive,” Mr. Miller noted.
The foundation is launching a fund-raising campaign to support the project. No tax dollars from the school district will be used, he emphasized. “This is entirely and independently funded by the foundation and corporate or individual donations,” he explained. The foundation board plans to host some events during the year to raise money, such as a banquet and a golf outing.
As fund-raising begins, he explained, the levels are:
Founder: $10,000
All Founders receive special recognition on a Founder’s plaque mounted in the main entry hallway of the high school. Also, they will be recognized on the foundation’s website, at foundation events and in publications and advertising. Mr. Miller said that foundation advisor Ed Reiter is the first Founder.
Legacy: $2,500-9,999
Legacy donors will be recognized on the foundation’s website, at foundation events and in publications and advertising.
Patron: $1,000-2,499
Patrons will be recognized on the foundation’s website and in publications.
Supporter: $100-999
Supporters will be recognized on the foundation website.

Other Bulldog Foundation board members are Kent Murphree, vice president; Tim Myers, treasurer; Rex Huffman, Amy Austin, Moe Minarcin, Joe Schaller, Tim Yenrick and Mayor Neil MacKinnon III.
